Eight Odisha districts in the red zone for cyclone
Bhubaneswar(26/10/2025): Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Sunday informed that eight districts of the state have been placed under the red zone in view of the impending cyclone. After a high-level review meeting at the office of the Special Relief Commissioner, the Minister said that Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nabarangpur, Ganjam, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi have been identified as red zone districts, where the impact of the cyclone is expected to be more. Districts such as Khordha, Puri, and Nayagarh may also be affected.Bhadrak and Jagatsinghpur are likely to experience some impact as well. In the areas likely to be affected, ODRAF and NDRF teams have been deployed. In Malkangiri district, three ODRAF teams, one NDRF team, and eight fire service teams have been stationed.Arrangements have been made to provide alternative power supply to relief centers and hospitals. Authorities have been directed to take immediate steps to clear the roads blocked due to landslide and falling of trees.
