
Commissionerate Police issues traffic advisory for Durga Puja
Bhubaneswar (26/09/2025): The Commissionerate Police has issued a traffic advisory for the citizens of Bhubaneswar for smooth movement of vehicles during Durga Puja. The traffic restrictions will remain in force from 2 pm to 2 am on all days between September 27 and October 2. No vehicles will be allowed to ply on the following routes: Rasulgarh crossing to Lingipur crossing and vice-versa via Bomikhal, Laxminagar, Kalpana, Ravi Talkies and Samantarapur crossing, Vani Vihar crossing to Sisu Bhawan crossing and vice-versa via Rupali, Satya Nagar, Ram Mandir, Master Canteen and Rajmahal crossing. No vehicle shall ply from Acharya Vihar crossing to Kalinga Hospital crossing and vice-versa via Sainik School crossing.No vehicle shall ply on Acharya Vihar crossing to New Airport crossing and vice-versa via Nico Park, Patel Marg, Housing Board, Rabindra Mandap and AG crossing. No vehicle shall be allowed to ply on Jaydev Vihar to Nandankanan Road and vice-versa via Xavier, Kalinga Hospital, Damana and Patia crossing. Plying of vehicles will be restricted on Jaydev Vihar crossing to Raj Bhawan crossing and vice-versa via Behera Sahi and Shastri Nagar crossing. No vehicle shall ply on CRP crossing to Power House crossing and vice-versa via Stewart School and Unit 8 DAV School crossing. No vehicle shall ply on Fire Training school crossing to Sishu Bhawan crossing and vice-versa via Paika Nagar, Siripur and Ganganagar crossing, Khandagiri crossing to Pokhariput crossing and vice-versa via Jagamara and Gandamunda crossing. No vehicle shall ply on both side service roads of NH-16 from Baramunda to Palasuni. On September 8 evening, heavy goods vehicles coming from Khurda side towards Cuttack side are not allowed to ply from Pitapalli Square.Those vehicles will be diverted from Pitapalli Square towards Balikuda Square via Chandaka Square and Baranga Square.Similarly, heavy goods vehicles coming from Cuttack side towards Khurda side will be diverted at Balikuda Square towards Pitapalli Square via Chandaka Square and Baranga Square.Taking into consideration of the volume of traffic and numbers of devotees, entry of heavy vehicles will be restricted from Pitapalli Square and from Birupa Birdge as and when required. During Ravan Podi at Nayapalli, the entire vehicular traffic coming on NH-16 from Cuttack side shall be diverted from Jayadev Vihar to CRP square or Fire Station Square via Behera shai, Sastri Nagar, Power House and Unit-8 DAV crossing.Similarly, vehicular traffic will also be diverted from CRP Square towards Jaydev Vihar via Ekamra Kanana road and Biju Pattnaik College road. However, the above restrictions will not be applicable for ambulances and vehicles engaged in emergency services including police, fire igade and excise.
